New Members Join WILMAPCO’s Public Advisory Committee
WILMAPCO’s Public Advisory Committee, or PAC, has seen some recent changes. The PAC — which represents local civic, environmental, business, and other interests — is charged with reviewing WILMAPCO’s plans and studies for ease of understanding and readability, making recommendations for outreach strategies, and sharing our information with the organizations the members represent to help broaden our reach.
WILMAPCO is pleased to welcome a few new members to the PAC this year, including Anna Quisel, representing the League of Women Voters; Tracy Chamblee, representing Southern New Castle County; and Serene Abiy and Ethini Amsale, who both represent University of Delaware students.
Anna Quisel is motivated by the intersection of health and the environment, preserving large-scale wilderness spaces, and creating opportunities for people to safely exercise by walking and biking from their homes. She hopes to make an impact for the residents of New Castle County through volunteer work and new career directions. Anna is currently a member
of the League of Women Voters Land Use and Transportation Committee, the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Climate and Health, and a current student in the Duke University Environmental Leadership Master’s in Environmental Management Program.
Tracy Chamblee is an accomplished brand marketer and sales professional with 25 years’ experience within Coca- Cola, Procter and Gamble, and Nixon Medical. He has provided creative thought leadership with sound analytics to drive positive business results during his career. As a respected leader, Tracy has leveraged his rich experience in marketing and sales to effectively lead diverse teams. Tracy is currently the Vice President for the Dover Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He resides in Middletown, Delaware.
Serene Abiy and Ethini Amsale are sisters who represent our younger generation. Serene feels that being involved in projects and plans in her community and the world is an important thing to do. She is passionate about animals and the natural world, and hopes to contribute her perspective as someone who wants to advocate for and improve the environment and
wildlife. Ethini is interested in planning, with a focus on the environment. She feels her experience as a member of the Youth Planning Board makes her a great candidate for WILMAPCO’s PAC and is excited to contribute her unique student perspective and share her thoughts and ideas, with the goal of spreading knowledge and understanding among her peers.
WILMAPCO is also pleased to welcome a new PAC Chairperson, Mike Kaszyski, who was featured in WILMAPCO’s Spring 2020 Transporter Newsletter (www.wilmapco.org/Spring2020.pdf). Mike represents the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and has served as the Vice Chairperson for the past two years. Mike is replacing former PAC Chairperson Tom Frustofer, who represents the City of Newark. Tom has diligently served as the PAC Chair for the past two terms and will now be the PAC Vice Chairperson.
Thank you very much to our new and continuing PAC members, who serve as a valuable resource to our staff and Council. We greatly appreciate all their time and efforts. For more information on WILMAPCO’s PAC, please visit www.wilmapco.org/pac.
