2022 Regional Progress Report Is Completed
A fresh iteration of WILMAPCO’s performance measurement document has been released. The Regional Progress Report tracks in WILMAPCO’s long-range plan (the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan, or RTP) are progressing. Are they meeting the mark, off the mark,
or somewhere in between?
Each recommended action in the 2050 RTP receives a green, red, or yellow light to show its progress, based on quantitative and qualitative indicators. The Progress Report is a update of the RTP.
We found that, overall, there has been good progress towards implementing the 2050 RTP. Sixty percent of actions received green lights — indicating good progress be completely off pace and received red lights. The rest, assigned yellow lights, saw partial or mixed progress.
One action that received a green light was the creation and implementation of subregional plans. WILMAPCO has completed at least 50 of these community plans since 1995. The at least partially implemented via new policy or new infrastructure recommended by the plan.
A pair of other actions that saw good progress was managing congestion and improving transit system performance. The region is on pace to meet several federally such as providing reliable travel times on non-interstate roads. As shown in the graphs at right,
