RYE The interior of this 1960s Colonial was transformed from top to bottom for a young family. Three feet of rock was chipped away in the basement to achieve functional ceiling heights, which now includes a mudroom, play space, workout room, and full bathroom. Meanwhile, the third-floor walk-up attic became home to a guest suite and expanded playroom. Dark hallways and cramped spaces were opened to maximize natural light and flow. New French doors to the backyard provide the backdrop for the soft, gray-blue cabinetry with mixed marble backsplash in the kitchen. And soft pastels were used throughout the design with light fixtures and furnishings throughout the dining room, living room, and sunroom. Upstairs, the primary suite includes a beautiful bathroom with freestanding tub centered on the double window, a full alcove shower, dressing area, and plenty of storage.
