No longer did I see an unsurpassable chasm between myself and the ivory towers of the universities that I dreamed of attending. Instead, I saw a bridge and an organization that was willing to give me the tools and encouragement to make it to the other side.

20 | GIVING GUIDE 2023
HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
LUCA is a social impact organization that
transforms lives by making college dreams
a reality for low-income, first-generation,
Latino youth. We guide students, who have
demonstrated academic ability, through
individualized coaching and culturally
relevant programming as they navigate
higher education to successfully enroll in schools that meet their financial and academic needs, enabling them to graduate on time and career ready with little to no debt. Since 2012, LUCA has delivered community programming to over 7,400 parents and students in Westchester County, NY, and helped 432 talented Scholars on their pathways to and through college.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
There are many ways to support Scholars on their college journeys. Gifts
to LUCA can be made as individual donations, personal fundraisers, and corporate and foundation grants. Contributions can also be made to our annual Visiones gala through sponsorships and tickets. Learn more about all of the ways to give at latinou.org/donate. Your generosity enables low-income, first- generation students to reach higher than they imagined possible!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers make our mission possible! Dedicated community members commit thousands of hours each year to ensure that college and career dreams can become a reality. There are many ways to get involved – from our intensive year-long College Coaching opportunity to our one-time Financial Aid volunteers who join us at FAFSA completion events.
