  HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
The YWCA White Plains & Central
Westchester, founded in 1929, is one of
Westchester’s oldest, largest, and most
accomplished social justice organizations. Our programs and advocacy improve the lives of women, children, and families through programs to increase emotional and economic self-sufficiency, from financial literacy to childcare and supportive housing. The YWCA’s Westchester Center for Racial Equity offers
a vision for sustaining antiracist work throughout the County and provides community and resources for individuals and organizations committed to racial equity, racial justice, and antiracism.
The YWCA’s Lila Wallace Centre at 515 North Street offers NAEYC accredited childcare and early education, before and after-school care, aquatics, gymnastics, summer camps, health and fitness classes, and more. The YWCA’s Women’s Residence on North Broadway, the largest provider of supportive housing for women in New York State, provides safe, affordable housing and wraparound services for 193 women. Our Court Supervised Visitation program enables children to maintain healthy and positive relationships with non-custodial parents while ensuring safety for the children and the custodial parents.
