WORLD-CLASS DINING
Westchester’s outstanding restaurant scene offers numerous New York Times reviewed and Zagat-rated dining establishments.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills was named the 2016 Restaurant of theYear by the food blog Eater. Chef Peter Kelly’s acclaimed X2O Xaviars on the Hudson in Yonkers, and Port Chester’s Tarry Lodge – a joint venture of celebrity Italian chefs Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich – are further examples of the world-class dining the county offers.
Fans of waterfront dining can enjoy Hudson River sunsets along with fine food at RiverMarket in Tar- rytown or Hastings’ Harvest on the Hudson, while Sound Shore residents can enjoy exceptional food and atmosphere at the Marina Grille in New Rochelle.
HISTORY
Graced by unique and historic architecture, the county is home to 16 National Historic Landmark sites and 196 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Historic Hudson Valley, an education non-profit, offers a host of educational and seasonal programs at its landmark sites, such as Croton’s Van Cortlandt Manor, Irvington’s Sunnyside Estate, Sleepy Hollow’s Philips- burg Manor and the John Jay Homestead in Katonah.

Westchester offers almost 46,000 acres of publicly ac- cessible open space to enjoy.

RIVERWALK
Spanning 14 municipalities, the Westchester RiverWalk is a 51.5-mile multi-faceted pathway paralleling the Hudson River in Westchester. When completed, it will link village centers, historic sites, parks and river access points along the mighty Hudson.
Running the length of the county from the New York City border to Putnam County, the South County
Trailway offers bikers, joggers and walkers a continu- ous paved pathway.
Featuring a 40-acre amusement park with more than 50 rides, Rye’s historic Playland is a 279-acre rec- reational complex drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
ROCKEFELLER PRESERVE
Located in Pleasantville, the preserve is an idyllic spot for strolling, jogging, horseback riding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and birdwatching.

MASTER PLAN UPDATE
The 2017 Village of Pleasantville Master Plan Update is designed to guide the Village’s downtown into a 21st century community. The plan envisions the downtown as a livable and lively center of community life with new housing opportunities that take advantage of the rail station.
