SERVING
Pockets of Montgomery County were adopted by Italian immigrants who brought their old-world approach to things like dough and sauce with them. The result is some of the best pizza in the nation.
The best pies in the county – as voted on by its
residents – are at Chiaro’s in Green Lane. They beat out 31 other competitors in a bracket-style competition we held
last spring. As we gear up for the 2017 edition, it will be interesting to see if they can start a legit streak.
Angelo’s Pizza, King of Prussia, has earned the approval of our very organization. When we place a take-out order for pepperoni, plain and mushroom pies, this is where we turn.
The runner-up in our Montco’s Best Pizza Tournament, Carmine’s Italian Grille, Blue Bell, is known for its unique pies such as taco (steak, lettuce, plum tomatoes, diced onions, bleu cheese, hot sauce and mozzarella) and the shrimp scampi (shrimp, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, olive oil, garlic and basil) pies.
Since 2000 La Cucina Fanti has been serving Abruzzi-style pizza in Horsham. Unlike traditional pies, Abruzzi style places the cheese between the dough and the sauce, instead of on top.
Conshohocken is a must if you love great food and drink.

WHAT’S Conshy
This charming borough – formerly a mill
HEATING town – is well situated from both a commuting
and scenic standpoint, benefitting from easy travel, a high walkability factor and its position on the Schuylkill River.
High-end dining includes Blackfish, voted one of the area’s top five BYOBs. The seafood-centric menu unfolds in a setting of white-glove service that doesn’t feel stuffy or intimidating.
For a more neighborhood feel in a sports-bar setting, crowds gather all weekend long to cheer for teams at Fingers Wings and Other Things (fwot) and Flanigan’s Boathouse.
Some of the best Mexican around is found at Coyote Crossing, where the Mezcal bar is a major draw.
