Haitham Ennabi, DDS
W
ith two thriving,
multi-specialty practices in Dutchess
County (Quality Dental Care) and a side
gig as Chief Surgeon for the Dutchess
County Sheriff’s Department and the
New York State Police, Dr. Ennabi is
always looking for more wayys to give
back. Ennabi was recently named
Chairman of Touro’s board of advisors
and is also a member of the school’s
admissions committee.
“In 2015, I met Dr. Jay Goldsmith, an
oral surgeon and the founding dean
of Touro College of Dental Medicine.
Touro was the first dental school to
open in New York in nearly 50 years!
At the time, I’d been taking care of
cops and veterans
for almost 20 years
and realized I’d never
done anything besides
being a member of
the Dutchess Dental
Society and NYS
Dental Society—I’d
never done anything
with a school, so it was
a great opportunity for
me to get involved,”
explains Dr. Ennabi.
He immediately
joined the admissions
committee and began interviewing
students. “But I wanted to do more,”
he says. “So I got involved with
fundraising—the golf outings and the
galas—and started introducing friends
to the school. Touro is important to me,
and I wanted it to be successful.”
Touro has grown remarkably in
such a brief period of time, thanks in
no small part to Dr. Ennabi’s support
and generosity, and the college is
“Touro Dental
has become a
Dental School
of choice for
the finest
applicants in
the country.”
currently on the cutting edge of dental
technology. “Touro is unbelievable. It’s
going to be the school to beat in the
future,” says Dr. Ennabi.
In addition to Touro’s state-of-the-
art resources,
Dr. Ennabi is
especially proud
of TouroCARES, a
new clinic devoted
to patients with
special needs.
“TouroCARES is a
unique program that
I think will be very,
very successful and
hopefully we can
raise a lot of funds
for it and take it to
the next level,” he
says. “Most dentists
rarely see special-needs patients; they
are very difficult to treat, and the visits
are time-consuming. So TouroCARES is
really a necessity.”
In addition to raising money to further
develop TouroCARES, Dr. Ennabi says
funds are also required to help build the
orthodontic, endodontic, and oral surgery
programs. “We are a new school and need
to continue to grow.”
