 Wildlife Viewing
     A BIRDING PARADISE
Southern Delaware is a popular stop-off point
for migratory birds on
the Atlantic Flyway. This translates into excellent birdwatching throughout
the area. Forests, fields, freshwater ponds, and coastal marshes are home
to osprey, waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds, among a wide variety of other species.
Noted birding hot spots include Abbott’s Mill Nature Center in Milford, Assawoman Wildlife Refuge in Frankford, Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, on-board the Cape May- Lewes Ferry, and the Delaware Seashore State Park south of Dewey Beach.
