MEET TODAY’S TALENT
— BUILDING THE FUTURE
It’s a simple philosophy: Invest today in educating and training a skilled workforce for tomorrow.
 As one of the nation’s largest industries, construction obtain wages that are graduated upward as the apprentice
accumulates greater skills and experience.
For more than two decades, CIC and BCA have hosted
each spring an annual Hudson Valley Construction Career Day bringing together dozens of trade leaders and instructors to speak about career opportunities and offer hands-on demonstrations to more than 700 high school students.
CIC and BCA also provide financial support to students through scholarship programs for undergraduate studies in STEM subjects. Since the program’s inception in 2000, the management associations have awarded $1.034 million to 111 students attending more than 80 colleges and universities in the U.S.
CIC and BCA are proud of the many students who have participated in these programs and have moved on to successful careers in the trades and industry. Here are some of our next-generation profiles and mission accomplishments.

The Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson
Valley, Inc. (CIC) and the Building Contractors Association
of Westchester & Mid-Hudson, Inc. (BCA) are focused on reinvigorating the industry’s labor force with young talent. CIC and BCA work with local schools, businesses, and labor representatives to support careers in the trades and, in turn, sustain the region’s quality of life and economic activity.
CIC and BCA have developed very successful apprenticeship programs, which offer youths an opportunity to learn critical skills in the building and construction trades and land good-paying jobs right in their communities. Programs follow a “learn-while-you-earn” model, as participants
