t the foot of a 1,550-ton, 40-story-tall super-post-Panamax
crane, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and other
dignitaries came together May 8 to celebrate the Port of
Baltimore’s bigger, faster, safer and more efficient Seagirt
Marine Terminal.
Joined by private-sector partners from Highstar Capital
and Ports America Chesapeake, the Governor explained
that Seagirt’s new 50-foot-deep berth and four supersized container
cranes are key elements in the Port’s ability to accommodate larger
