A Salute for Coast Guard’s Capt. Keifer
C
apt. Kevin C. Keifer, shown saluting Rear Admiral Thomas Ratti,
officially took command of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Baltimore
during a recent ceremony. Keifer replaced Capt. Mark O’Malley,
who was thanked by Maryland Port Administration Executive Director
James J. White.

Shapiro Announces
Staffing Changes
T
he Baltimore headquarters of
Samuel Shapiro & Company, Inc.,
a 97-year-old logistics leader, has
made several recent personnel moves.
Kathy McKoy, who started with the
company in 1998 and most recently
served as Baltimore Branch Manager,
is now Regional Manager of the Mid-
Atlantic Region. Robert Clawson,
originally assigned to Shapiro’s
Charleston branch office as its Regional
Sales Director, has been reallocated
to focus on the Mid-Atlantic region to
better support Shapiro’s rising customer
base and growth plans. And Marley
Tanno has been promoted to Import
Supervisor after serving as a summer
2010
intern and then being hired full-
time as an Import Coordinator.
