NCFA COMMUNICATIONS 2024 RECAP:
Growth, New Opportunities
the same can be said about NCFA’s communications program. 2024
This year has been one of growth and opportunity across the board, and
brought us new opportunities to share our organization’s mission with
people outside of our industry.
We enhanced our social media platforms with diversified content and a strategy.
We started conversations in the local North Carolina media and were featured on
CBS 17. We streamlined member communications by innovating existing programs
with new approaches and tried new tactics to reach all our audience segments. We
made a concerted effort to collaborate with our industry counterparts to share our
resources and enhance each other’s communications programs.
Overall, we’ve set ourselves up for success as we enter 2025!
Keeping the Conversation Alive
The best part about continuing the conversation about sustainable forestry is
that we get to create strategic opportunities to tell our story to as many people as
possible. In our next issue of TreeLine you will read about NCFA member Roseburg
Resources and the important role they played in sharing our industry’s story
of sustainability with an elevated platform like The New Yorker. If there is one
thing we can learn from this experience, it’s that we can’t be afraid to keep our
communications channels open and take advantage of opportunities to have a
voice and a seat at the table. Stay tuned!
As we look forward and plan for the future, we will be strategizing new ways
we can take our messaging to the next level to ensure we are educating the public
in the best ways, engaging our youth, and fostering an environment that cultivates
the next generation of leaders in forestry.

Advocate of the Year award.
ENGAGE WITH US ON SOCIAL MEDIA!
The NCFA has a consistent cadence of content across our social media
channels. If you’re not already following us and sharing our content,
please do! Every little bit helps to spread awareness about our
industry and amplify the voice of forestry in NC.
2024 Advocate
of the Year
At this year’s annual meeting, we were
delighted to present the Advocate of the
Year award to Cierra Ward of Resource
Management Service, LLC. Ward takes
advantage of every opportunity to give back
to her community and educate others about
sustainable forestry and possible career
paths. She was recently featured in the
American Forest and Paper Association’s forest
management content series, a collaboration
made possible by opening our doors to
our industry counterparts and creating
opportunities to utilize each other’s resources
to further our message of sustainability.
