Sustainable Forestry Teachers Experience Evaluation
Thirty-nine educators participated in the 2022 Sustainable Forestry Teachers Experience (STFE), a four-day professional development workshop that
includes participating in guided tours of North Carolina forests and forestry operations, observing sustainable forestry practices in action, experiencing Project Learning Tree (PLT) activities, and developing plans for bringing new knowledge and resources back to classrooms/programs.
Educators completed an evaluation at the end of the experience. Below are some highlights.
“I have a better under- standing of forestry now and I feel better able to explain to students the need for forestry.”
“I will use PLT resources and adapt information from industry to get students excited and informed about forestry in the U.S.”
“This is the best workshop I’ve attended in my 27- year career!”
