A:I see my role in forestry as being a good steward of the land, to ensure the
forestry industry is sustainable for years to come. We really try to go above and beyond on all our best management practices (BMPs) to ensure our industry continues to thrive and is perceived well publicly. We try very hard to present our company and crew in a professional manner. Safety is our number-one priority. We must promote
a safe work environment so that we can all continue to do our jobs effectively and
go home each night. Being the owner of
a logging operation that procures 100%
of our stumpage leads to wearing many different hats. Some days I am buying timber, some days I am driving a skidder
or log truck, and other days I am managing administrative work. It all depends on
what tasks the day calls for. Inez Forest Industries operates three logging crews,
any given day, producing roughly 140-150 loads of delivered forest products to the surrounding mills. We also operate a fleet of 11 log trucks. Coordinating the fleet among our logging crews to maximize production and minimize unloaded hauls can be a full- time job.

A:I am a fifth-generation logger and grew up logging in the woods. My
dad, Glenn Coleman III, started Inez Forest Industries, Inc. in January of 1984. I have been in the woods since I was eight years old, and never had a doubt this
was what I wanted to do for a living.
I began working full time with my dad in 2007 and we have been logging together ever since.
