COMMITTEES
Education Committee
NCFA’s Education Committee works on initiatives that increase public knowledge and understanding of North Carolina’s forestry and wood products industries. The committee also develops educational programs to expand youth knowledge and workforce development skills
related to forestry careers. Additionally, the committee provides resources and professional development for educators to help their students learn about North Carolina’s forests and forest industry.
Forest Management Committee
The NCFA’s Forest Management Committee serves to advance proper forestry goals in North Carolina. The committee covers a wide range of topics, from industry standards to important regulatory issues. The Forest Management Committee pools knowledge and resources from across the NCFA’s various membership categories in order to ensure the responsible use and management of North Carolina’s forests.
Government Affairs/ Communications Committee The NCFA’s Government Affairs/ Communications Committee advises on advocacy efforts alongside the NCFA’s Executive Director. Similarly, this committee contributes to the NCFA’s communications mission of sending a positive, correct message regarding the state’s forest industry to the public.
North Carolina Friends of Forestry Political Action Committee (FFPAC)
FFPAC is an independent, non-partisan organization of individuals interested
in the policies and regulations that affect North Carolina’s natural resources and forest-based economy. The FFPAC is registered with the state board of elections and adheres to NC’s statutory requirements. The FFPAC does not offer support in federal elections.
The mission of FFPAC is to champion forestry/agricultural interests by organizing effective political action and by creating awareness among candidates of the importance of forestry to the economy and the environment, thus carrying out its civic responsibility.
