 EDUCATION PROGRAMS
  Congratulations MARY MARRIOTT!
2022 Nicholas M. Curtis Memorial Scholarship Recipient
The late Nicholas Maxwell Curtis lived a life committed to sustainable forestry and helping others. His friends and coworkers have honored his memory by establishing the Nicholas M. Curtis Memorial Scholarship Endowment through
the Forest Education and
Conservation Foundation (FECF). The goal of the scholarship initiative is to help forestry students at North Carolina State University pursing an undergraduate degree in forest management ease their financial burden. ■
NCFA at the North Carolina State Fair
The NCFA was excited to have a display in the
James Robert “Bob” Stanfield Natural Resources Conservation Center at the North Carolina State Fair. In addition to an informational display, Director of Communications Amanda Murphy, Director of Education Programs Jessica Ireland, and NCFA interns Kat Peters
and Abigail Ridge created a sustainable forestry scavenger hunt for fair guests; after completing the scavenger hunt, participants were given a Goods from the Woods poster.
Thank you to our partner, the North Carolina Forest Service, for inviting us to be a part of the state fair! ■
