Q:What do you like about the program? What benefits do
you see?
A:The ProLogger program has taught me a lot about best management
practices to ensure that we are taking care of the land, as well as important practices to keep everyone safe in the woods and
on the roads. Our main priority is for everyone to go home to their families at the end of the day. With this in mind, we have a company motto: “Safety First, then Quality Work, and Quantity Will Follow.” Production is key in the logging woods, but if we focus on doing things the safe way and the right way, the production will be there.
Q:What is the best business advice you have ever received?
A:One of my mentors told me years ago to remember, “You don’t work for me.
You work with me, and you work for your family.” I try to operate my business with this in mind. I have a sign in my shop that reminds me, “Don’t get too busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” That and “Don’t ever give up.”
