ANNUAL MEETING REPORT
Recognition was given to all living
Past Presidents of the Medical Society
of Delaware and the 2020 members of
the 1789 Club. MSD thanks its Past Presidents for their service and this year’s 1789 Club members for their generosity in supporting the Society’s Mission Appeal. Recently, the second component of the Mission Appeal was launched. The Tilton Legacy Society allows donors to name the Medical Society of Delaware in their estate planning.
Awards presented included those to our physician members who were recognized for their 50 years of dedicated service
to the citizens of Delaware and the medical profession. Those recognized
as graduating from medical school in 1970 were: S. Paul Akana, MD; Louis E. Bartoshesky, MD; Richard H. Bonder, MD; Robert W. Cox, MD; Alan J. Fink, MD; Robert L. Hickok, Jr., MD; Laura
S. Inselman, MD; Janaki B. Kaza, MD; Jeffry I. Komins, MD; Gary T. Quiroga, MD; Michael Rhodes, MD; Harold Rosen, Siavash, MD; and Richard L. Ward, MD.
Because the Inaugural Gala was not
held this year due to the pandemic, the awards typically presented at the Gala were given at the Annual Meeting of
the Council. Those recognized were: The Honorable John C. Carney, Jr., Governor, Distinguished Service Award; Karyl T. Rattay, MD, Director of the Division of Public Health, President’s Award; and Nancy Fan, MD, MSD Past President, Chair of the Delaware Health Care Commission, and Chair of the Health Subcommittee of the Pandemic Resurgence Advisory Committee, a Special Recognition Award.
