Officials with the U.S Department of Commerce said: “Benjamin Franklin High’s new Center for Advanced Manufacturing is an exemplary investment in the future of the American workforce and the ecosystems necessary to leverage new technologies.”

• Merck & Company Inc. is one of the top healthcare firms in the world, operating in more than 140 countries, with revenues close to $40 billion. The healthcare company operates a large research and manufacturing campus in West Point, PA, and maintains headquarters in Kenilworth, NJ.
• Campbell’s Soup maintains its world headquar- ters in Camden, NJ. The company, founded in 1869, recently released a comprehensive plan to drive growth over the next decade through e-commerce, nutrition, additional products and using commodi- ties from local and regional farms.

• GlaxoSmithKline is based in London, but main- tains one of its two corporate U.S. headquarters at the Philadelphia Navy Yard — home to the pharmaceutical firm’s marketing, communi- cations, finance, IT, sales and other corporate departments. GlaxoSmithKline employs more than 100,000 people in 150 countries.
• K’NEX, a novel educational toy company head- quartered in Hatfield, PA, uses state-of-the-art, eco-friendly manufacturing to produce rods and connectors for toys that inspire learning and imagination for kids of all ages.
• Boeing maintains headquarters and a rotorcraft factory in Ridley Park. The company recently unveiled its MH-139 helicopter that was built at the Pennsylvania plant to replace the U.S. Air Force’s UH-1N “Huey” fleet, which protects the U.S. from intercontinental ballistic missiles.
• Knoll, Inc., with global headquarters in East Greenville, PA, is a leading global designer and manufacturer of branded furniture, textiles, leath- ers and architectural and acoustical elements, recognized for innovation and modern design.
