This room, in its day a grand ballroom adjacent to the Hotel du Pont, is grand once more. Now renamed The Nobel Room (after Swedish chemist, engineer and philanthropist Alfred Nobel), it is the crown jewel of our renovation. And like our entire renovated workplace, it is the story of unlocked potential — potential for architectural reinvention that is mod- ern but respectful of our roots, potential for a revitalized workforce and potential for economic growth. We love the fact that we’re working in a metaphor!
It is our great fortune that Wilming- ton, New Castle County and the State of Delaware believed in the promise of Chemours; without that, this would be a very different account. They saw beyond the negative, early headlines, the pay-back equations and the under- standable hand-wringing. They took a chance on us, and we’re delivering.
