YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
COMMITTEE
The Young Professionals Committee (YPC)
is a group of like-minded individuals under
the age of 40 with a focus on developing
opportunities to stimulate both personal
and professional groups. Sales and
marketing specialist Jake Drap co-chairs
the committee along with Amy Sanchez of
Greencastle Consulting.
YPC hosts quarterly meetings and events
intended to provide unique settings for
education and network expansion. At the
time of writing, Drap said the committee
was in the final planning stages for two
upcoming events: a panel session on
artificial intelligence and a summer BBQ
and networking event. “We keep it pretty
relaxed,” he said. “We just want everyone to
have a great time.”
Drap said the committee “welcomes
everyone who wants to be a part of it. If
you want to put in some work, we’re happy
to have you along.”

volunteering for an event, email abby@

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
COMMITTEE
In monthly Government Affairs Committee
(GAC) meetings, Chamber members receive
updates on specific legislation the Chamber
is tracking to evaluate and potentially
mitigate their impact on local businesses.
Important issues monitored by GAC include
childcare, housing and business tax reform,
among many others. (For more on the
Chamber’s advocacy work, see page 16.)
GAC attendees include businesses of all
sizes, nonprofits, community partners and
more. Discussion topics are always timely
and relevant to local businesses, and guest
speakers include local officials as well as
state senators or representatives.
GAC Chair Charles Boruchowitz encourages
all Chamber members to attend the
meetings and get involved: “If there’s a
specific bill or issue you’re concerned
about, get your voice heard and don’t be
afraid to say ‘let’s advocate for this.’”

GAC, contact abby@chescochamber.org

WE CAN HELP
CHAMBER
AMBASSADORS
The purpose of the Chamber Ambassadors
is to help recruit and onboard new
members to the Chamber. Each new
member is assigned an ambassador, and
they are often the first person a new
member meets after joining the Chamber.
The ambassadors act as mentors, sharing
upcoming events and networking
opportunities as well as ways that new
members can market themselves through
the Chamber.
“Our job is to make sure new members get
off to a positive membership experience
start,” said Committee Chair Drew Braun. “If
we can get them engaged early, it will lead
to better results for them.”
Every two to three months, the
committee hosts a new member
orientation where newcomers can learn
about the Chamber and meet the staff as
well as their ambassador.
To meet your ambassador, please email
CCCBI's Director of Membership, Laura Ellis,
at ellis@chescochamber.org.
