ARTS & LIFESTYLE
THE ARTS THRIVE IN THE ARTS THRIVE IN
CHESTER COUNTY CHESTER COUNTY
Chester County’s arts and lifestyle
landscape is as diverse as its people,
ranging from national broadcasters
to historical villages and a movie
theater featured prominently in a
1950s cult classic. Read on to learn
more about some of Chester County’s
most significant arts and lifestyle
destinations.
QVC: A National Broadcaster with a
Chester County Home
QVC reaches more than 200 million homes worldwide through 13
TV channels — and it all starts right here in Chester County.
“Studio Park in West Chester is our global headquarters, so it’s a
destination that the world is coming to,” said Sue Schick, QVC’s
Senior Vice President of Content, Programming and Broadcast
Production.
For local businesses and residents in Chester County, Studio Park is
a major asset in that it offers an opportunity to attend regular live
audience experiences. “We have a studio theater that holds 134
attendees,” said Schick. Live broadcasts take place about once or
twice a month and often feature major guest stars, book signings
and giveaways. For example, an event this past July for “Christmas
in July” featured the Radio City Rockettes. (QVC is a sponsor for the
Rockettes.)
Studio Park also offers so-called “customer immersion experiences,”
where guests have an opportunity to better get to know the brands
and products QVC offers.
“We also love to leave Studio Park to feature the incredible scenery
and attractions in Chester County,” Schick said. For upcoming
opportunities to attend QVC events, go to qvc.com/content/

Another Chester County destination is the QVC Outlet Store in
Frazer. “We broadcast nationally in millions of homes, yet there are
only two outlet stores in the country,” Schick said. “One is in Florida
and the other one happens to be in Frazer. It’s a great place for an
amazing selection of savings across all our categories.”
Chester County is a great location for QVC due to its wide range of
talent, she said. “For broadcast operations specifically, we employ
over 1,000 individuals in a wide variety of roles. There are those
you see on-camera, like our Program Hosts, and those behind
the scenes such as producers, directors, fashion stylists, food
stylists, set designers, graphic designers, control room operators,
engineers, models, videographers, photographers, editors and a
remote production team.” QVC also uses local agencies and staffing
services to find stylists and models. The company employs upwards
of another 1,500 team members, depending on season, at its
fulfillment center in Bethlehem, PA.
QVC gives back to its Chester County home by working with various
local nonprofits such as the Chester County Economic Development
Council, the Chester County Food Bank and the American Red Cross
of Southeastern Pennsylvania. In the U.S., employees at QVC receive
two dedicated days off a year to serve with local nonprofits.
In April, QVC launched its Age of Possibility campaign, which
highlights women 50 and older “to celebrate who they are, and
to share what they know and love,” Schick said. The faces of this
