» YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM WORKS TO KEEP TALENT LOCAL
The Chester County Chamber Foundation’s Youth Leadership Program seeks to recognize, cultivate, and support the next generation of leaders in Chester County. High school juniors and seniors are given the opportunity to grow with their peers from several different schools, visit businesses across industries, and hear directly from professionals in the workforce. Students receive first-hand knowledge of local and national issues influencing the world around them through a series of educational sessions, activities, and group participation.
Business professionals and industry leaders volunteer their time to facilitate each full-day session, held once a month from September through May, working with students to improve their skills and awareness. These field trips allow students the opportunity to build relationships with different speakers and organizations through real- world experience.
After seeing the variety of jobs and careers available here in Chester County, students are encouraged to maintain the relationships they built with community and industry leaders, making it more likely that they will return to Chester County post-graduation.
