Neumann University is a private Catholic institution in the Franciscan tradition, with an enrollment of about 2,200 students. Neumann has industry advisory councils that steer its programs to meet the changing needs of employers.
“Innovative programs and majors are constantly evaluated and developed, including recent health sciences, athletic training, cybersecurity and data analytics,” said Gene McWilliams, VP of Finance and Administration. “One hundred percent of our majors require a clinical, internship or field experience, and many require more than one. Neumann University educates a diverse community of learners based upon the belief that knowledge is a gift to be shared in the service of others and that learning is a lifelong process.”
Currently, Neumann is undergoing a major expansion: in January 2022, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia transitioned about 70 acres of property to Neumann University, doubling the size of the campus. “The campus master plan, coupled with our capital campaign, provides for the addition of an ice hockey rink, a student center and a conference and events center expansion with the addition of a hotel,” McWilliams said.
Another faith-based option is Immaculata University, which offers more than 60 undergraduate degrees, including accelerated, online and career-oriented programs for adults.
Also serving learners is Delaware County Community College, which maintains four locations in Chester County. The Brandywine Center in Downingtown is home to the college’s culinary arts program, while the other three locations offer a variety of credit and non-credit courses and programs.
