 The Veterans’ Administration Medical Center has 345 beds in
its Coatesville facility, with clinics in Springfield and Spring City. More than 19,500 veterans were treated in those facilities in FY 2017. Specializing in healthcare and social services for U.S. military veterans, the medical center provides primary, mental health, geriatric and women’s care. It also offers adult daycare, physical therapy, urgent care and inpatient rehabilitation.
Senior Services
Chester County has a wealth of resources, services and housing options for senior citizens. Six senior centers, funded in part by the Chester County Department of Aging, offer a variety of services and activities, including meals, driving classes, seminars, a book club and Medicare counseling.
Brightview Devon in Wayne will be Brightview’s newest senior living community in Pennsylvania when it opens in April 2019. Operated by the Baltimore-based Brightview Co., the center will feature independent living, assisted living and memory care in a beautiful setting on the Main Line.
Echo Lake in the community of Atwater in Malvern is a senior community on a 25-acre waterside campus. It offers varied living arrangements, dining options, an onsite library and movie theater, levels of care and a full range of activities. The community is within walking distance of outdoor activities, restaurants and shops. u
