Westchester’s First Commercial Transcontinental Route
Breeze Airways added two new routes from Westchester County Airport, with nonstop service to Los Angeles and Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida. e Los Angeles service is the first commercial transcontinental route from Westchester. Breeze currently serves nine destinations from the airport, more than any other airline – with more routes expected.
Help for those with Disabilities
To help ensure a positive travel experience for all, Westchester County Airport has launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program to support passengers with hidden disabilities and accessibility needs. When travelers voluntarily choose to wear a sunflower lanyard, it is a way for them to discreetly inform others that they have a disability.
RAIL
e nation’s second largest commuter railroad, Metro-North, offers three different train lines and 43 station stops throughout the County, getting travelers to Manhattan in under an hour. Featuring 775 miles of track, Metro- North services 120 stations in seven counties across New York State.
Transforming Our Regional Transportation System:
Penn Station Access
With an anticipated completion date of 2027, Penn Station access will improve reliability for riders, offer faster commutes and expand transit options. e project will allow direct Metro-North service from the Bronx, Westchester, and Connecticut to Penn Station and Manhattan’s thriving West Side.
Project Benefits
• Four new ADA-accessible stations at Hunts Point, Morris Park, Co-op City, and Parkchester/Van Nest
• A one-seat ride between Penn Station and the East Bronx, Westchester, and Connecticut
• Shorter travel times — some passengers may save as much as 75 minutes
• A second Metro-North route into Manhattan and another terminal for the railroad
• 19 miles of new and rehabilitated track along Amtrak’s Hell Gate Line, which will improve reliability and on-time service for Amtrak customers
• Less traffic and air pollution
