Westchester boasts an exceptional workforce. But with historically low unemployment levels across the nation, talent attraction remains a critical issue for business owners – especially among firms located within the highly competitive New York City tristate region.
BCW Calls Upon the
Ultimate Headhunter
To help bring fresh thinking to this challenge, the Business Council of Westchester turned to former head of Economic Development for Westchester County and the Mid-Hudson
Valley, Larry Gottlieb, to develop strategies for attracting, cultivating and retaining skilled talent in the County.
Just prior to Halloween 2022, Gottlieb, who currently serves as Managing Director, Robert Martin Company, had a spark of inspiration. “We wanted to shake things up,” he recalls. “So, why not call on the ultimate headhunter: the iconic Headless Horseman?”
Seizing upon Westchester County’s enviable position as a top recreational and business travel destination, “the initial concept was leveraging a major regional tourism asset and connecting it to a critical economic need – talent. “e campaign went from concept to
