What are some of the most in-demand skills that are
being taught at CCBC?
Davis: CCBC offers more than 200 associate degrees and certificates as well as short-term certifications to update skills or get people quickly into the workplace. The college prides itself on providing education and training in many of the most in-demand jobs. CCBC’s main academic programs of study include: Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Criminal Justice Studies, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Human Services Counseling, Information Technology, Nursing and Teacher Education. These academic programs address the employment needs of the greater Baltimore regional workforce industries.
CCBC also offers short-term training in many in-demand areas such as CDL training — helping to fill a truck-driver shortage — and information technology certificates for those interested in updating their skills in the workplace. And, as one of the largest providers of healthcare education in the area, CCBC enrolls thousands into healthcare programs producing everything from
nurses and respiratory care therapists to emergency medical technologists and physician assistants.
Are there any other recently established programs, facility upgrades or operational changes that you'd like prospective students to know about?
Davis: CCBC recently opened the Carol Diane Eustis
Center for Health Professions on the Essex campus. This 120,000-square-foot facility provides students with cutting- edge technology, labs, classrooms, student lounges and an inter-professional simulation center. CCBC also established a Transportation Training Center at Tradepoint Atlantic, where students are preparing to become CDL drivers.
In regards to program expansion, CCBC launched CCBC Online, offering a wide range of programs and courses for those interested in earning a degree fully online or just interested in fitting a class into their schedule. Additionally, CCBC is establishing new and creative ways of working with four-year colleges and universities to increase students’ opportunity to transfer with ease, especially after earning their associate degrees.
