    Shopping
Baltimore County’s main streets are chock- full of independently owned boutiques
that invite you to browse for clothing, accessories, books and antiques.
Mall fans will love the Towson Town Center, with its upscale destination stores such as Nordstrom, PANDORA and Tory Burch. Our other major indoor mall is White Marsh Mall, while those who prefer outdoor shopping and entertainment destinations should head to The Avenue at White Marsh, The Shops at Kenilworth or The Hunt Valley Town Centre.
TA PLACE TO SAVOR
he jewel in Baltimore County’s culinary crown is undoubtedly the crab cake, and everyone has an
opinion on where to find the best one. (At
a minimum, you have to try the versions served at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and Costas Inn to hold your own in the debate.)
But there’s so much more than crab to
our local restaurant scene: you can dine
on global cuisine ranging from Irish to Indian and Mexican to Persian. Those who enjoy fine dining will feel right at home
at Linwoods in Owings Mills, Citron at Quarry Lake or Perennial in Towson. A great time to discover what our restaurants are all about is Baltimore County Restaurant Week, a 16-day promotion that offers special prix-fixe deals at participating venues twice a year.
Beer and wine lovers have plentiful options. The Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House is our most famous beer destination, but make sure to stop by the taprooms at White Marsh Brewing Co. and Key Brewing Co. too!

Arts & Entertainment
Major performance venues include the
Gordon Center for Performing Arts
in Owings Mills, which hosts an eclectic variety of professional entertainment, including music, theater, dance and family programming; the Harold J. Kaplan Concert Hall and Stephens Hall Auditorium at Towson University; and the Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College.
Did you know Baltimore County is home
to the country’s biggest movie theater screen? Measuring 52 feet high and 120 feet wide, it entertains viewers at Bengies Drive-In Theatre in Middle River.
  Meet Us at the Fair!
For 11 days each August and September, the State Fairgrounds in Timonium are the place to be! The Maryland State Fair, with its agricultural displays, rides, carnival games, horse races and concerts by national headliners, has been a tradition since the 1870s.
Come back during the holiday season for the Festival of Trees, a dazzling extravaganza of Christmas displays! Proceeds from tree and wreath sales benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a nonprofit that serves children and young adults with neurological, rehabilitative or developmental needs.
