BALTIMORE NEIGHBORHOODS
BALTIMORE IS A CITY OF NEIGHBORHOODS — more than 200 of them in fact! — each with a charm and personality all its own. While it may be nearly impossible to explore all of them while you’re here, we invite you to try. Each of these neighborhoods is brimming with cultural, culinary, and historical attractions and activities to experience.
FELL’S POINT , with its cobblestone streets and memories of its seafaring heritage, is an ideal neighborhood for hunkering down in a historic tavern
or people-watching in the recently restored public square. Sneak in some shopping at places like Su Casa, a favorite of new homeowners looking to stock up on trendy furniture and housewares.
MOUNT VERNON is home to world-renowned cultural sites like the Walters Art Museum and the Peabody Library, along with some of the city’s most impressive examples of 19th-century domestic architecture. Long the unofficial hub of LGBTQ life in Baltimore, Mount Vernon welcomes visitors with numerous restaurants and cafes
as well as the stunning historic Mount Vernon Place, home of the Washington Monument.
Baltimore Heritage puts on regular walking tours of significant LGBTQ sites in Mount Vernon as well as nearby Charles Village.
HARBOR EAST ,
an upscale development on the harbor’s eastern shore, is famed
for prize-winning restaurants, glamourous bars, and serious shopping at both national chains and homegrown boutiques.
STATION NORTH serves
as a model for arts districts throughout the country. The neighborhood is well-known for its
street art, along with independent film and event venues, such as The Charles Theatre and The Windup Space.
