New Castle County Register of Wills Ciro Poppiti and his staff celebrated the 11th anniversary of the Register of Wills Office’s evening hours on April 6 at the Appoquin- imink Library.
The first Wednesday evening of every month for the past 11 years, the Register of Wills has been available to provide meaning- ful outreach to those below the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal – opening estates, closing estates, and issuing of probate documents.
“Those who come to us for evening hours are so appreciative,” Poppiti said. “They thank us for the convenience and accessibil- ity at a time when their family is grappling with the death of a loved one.”
April’s event was the last time the Register of Wills offered services at the Appoquin- imink Library before relocating to the new library at Main and Catherine streets.
The Register of Wills Office had planned to celebrate the 10th anniversary last year but the event was postponed due to the pandemic. IAH
