Opioid Education for Your Workers: DCA Can Help
The DCA offers assistance to support members in dealing with the reality of opioid use in the construction industry. Contact DCA’s Director of Workforce Development Jamie Chambers at jchambers@e-dca.org or 302-985-7988 to schedule a “toolbox talk” for your staff.
“I’m willing to go to any jobsite and talk to anyone to help attack addiction,” Chambers said.
Chambers’ talk includes facts about opioid use in the construction industry, information on alternative pain- management options, and details about different programs that can help those struggling with addiction, including:
• The Help Is Here toolkit provided by the State of Delaware (see more information on the previous page)
• Project Engage at ChristianaCare, which offers early intervention and referrals to treatment programs. More information is at ChristianaCare.org/us/en/care/behavioral-care/project-engage.
• HERO HELP, a state program that provides addiction help to any qualifying adults who contact the police and ask for treatment. Find more information at NewCastleDE.gov/1266/HERO-HELP-Program.
