 DCA’S PROUD HISTORY
The Delaware Contractors Association (DCA) was created in 1969 with the merger of two of Delaware’s most respected construction trade associations: the Allied Industries of Delaware (1932) and the Delaware Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (1934).
DCA is an association comprised of general and subcontractors involved
in heavy, highway, commercial, industrial and utility construction, as well as suppliers of goods and services to the construction industry. Our membership includes allied and merit shop firms of all sizes, companies spanning multiple generations and those new to the construction community. We are a nonprofit organization run by a Board of Directors whose members are elected annually by the membership. An Executive Committee and officers are elected from within the Board. DCA is organized to bring a voice of strength and unity to the construction industry in Delaware, while holding a commitment to excellence.
In addition, we’re dedicated to serving the needs of the construction community through communication, leadership, government and public relations, education, workforce development, training and networking opportunities. We keep our members closely apprised of industry issues and governmental matters. Information bulletins are regularly published in the DCA PunchList (weekly e-newsletter) and on the website, www.e-dca.org.
DCA maintains an effective and viable rapport with state, county, local and federal governmental officials in both the executive and legislative branches. All these government stakeholders recognize us for our leadership and contributions to the development of government policy.
DCA’s offices are at the intersection of Routes 4 and 7 in the Churchman’s Crossing area of suburban New Castle County, in a facility that offers a large boardroom, a well-equipped classroom and visitors’ offices for its members’ use.
