YMCA of Delaware
Coming from leadership experience at Greater Boston YMCA, the YMCA of Delaware President and CEO Jarrett Royster has developed the non-profit’s five promises: make kids workforce and life ready, improve individual and community health, create equitable experiences, build family economic stability, and build bridges in the community. As one of the largest non-profits in the state, the YMCA
of Delaware had a revenue stream of $39.9 million in 2021, and Royster aims to build that even more. Last year, the Y awarded $3.9 million in financial assistance to members. There are also 2,000 teens in programs like the Youth in Government program, the Black Achievers program and the Leaders
in Training program, teaching them how to lead.
John Wellons
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware
John Wellons has served as president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, the state’s largest provider
of before- and after-school programs, since 2017. The organization boasts
an annual membership of 7,000
young people, with an average daily attendance of 3,000 people. In addition, the nonprofit employs 600 people and operates with an annual budget of
$25 million. Through his leadership, Wellons focuses on strategic development, intertwined with sound business practices, as he, the board and leadership team pursue a mission to provide programming young people need to grow into productive, responsible, caring citizens.
