Bryon Short has had a long career
in the public and private sector,
serving in Tom Carper’s congressional
offi ce and later in the Department of
Transportation before leaving to run
his own small construction company.
In 2007, he was elected to Delaware
House of Representatives and served
for a decade before retiring from
Legislative Hall. Th at experience
prepared him to now lead the Delaware
Contractors Association, which aims
to expand the regional construction
economy, provide training and
education to build the workforce
of tomorrow, and create business
development opportunities for its
members.

As executive vice president of
JLL’s Wilmington offi ce, Jamie
Vari specializes in landlord and
tenant representation services for
corporate and institutional clients
throughout Delaware and the greater
Philadelphia region. In 13 years with
the fi rm, Vari and his team have
successfully negotiated more than
1,000 transactions that are collectively
valued at more than $500 million. He’s
worked closely with major landlords
like Delle Donne & Associates,
Th e Commonwealth Group, and
Harvey Hanna & Associates. Major
achievements include overseeing
leasing out Avenue North and
representing Potter Anderson's long
term lease extension in Wilmington.

Dennis Silcato has 40 years of
experience in commercial real estate
and development, with regional
shopping centers, residential projects,
industrial complexes and power
centers, among other projects. Among
notable projects throughout the years
include the rising 10th Street Centre
off Delaware Route 1 outside Milford,
the Four Seasons Plaza in Glasgow
and the River Park Plaza in Salisbury,
Md. Silcato Development has invested
in southern Delaware properties
with tenants like Grotto Pizza, Surf
Bagel, Beebe Healthcare and more.
Silcato has developed long-standing
relationships with national and local
corporations and retailers through
his skills in executing large scale land
deals and transitions.

DSM Commercial
Since its founding in 2012, DSM
Commercial has become a leader
in Delaware and the surrounding
region with an all-inclusive suite of
commercial real estate services such
as brokerage, construction, property
management and maintenance and
real estate development. Th e fi rm has
more than 150 years of experience
and has worked with projects like
industrial parks to offi ce buildings
to everything in between. As partner,
Tripp Way’s responsibilities include
tenant and landlord representation
and investment property analysis and
sales. Previously, Way worked as a
commercial real estate appraiser and
served as Senior Consultant to the
Herman/Turner Group, as a consultant
with Capital Valuation Group and was
a partner at Emory Hill Real Estate
Services.
