Mike Horsey of Common Sense Solutions is the winner of the 2023 Charter Cup, an award presented annually to the ABC contractor member who most effectively embodies the principles of the Merit Shop philosophy and makes the greatest contributions to the
membership growth. He was instrumental in our expansion into Kent/Sussex counties and establishing us as a statewide organization. Mike has also contributed to the recruitment of new members and educating them about the benefits
of membership. Recently, he played a key role in recruiting residential developers and forming a committee to discuss business-related issues.
Mike has been a steadfast supporter and contributor to both our local and national Political Action Committees, which work to elect pro-Merit Shop legislators. He actively encourages other ABC members to engage in the legislative process and helps them understand the value of having their voices heard.
“Mike is one of the most avid supporters of ABC and promotes our association on a daily basis to his employees and friends,” says Edward Capodanno, ABC Delaware President. “He
is constantly advocating the benefits of belonging to our association and what the return on investment will be for your company. He is an individual that truly embodies the spirit of ABC and is well deserving of this award.”
Mike has shown incredible passion for the protection of free enterprise and open competition in Delaware. He has served a six-year term on the Board of Directors and has participated in various committees, including Legislative/Legal Rights, Kent/ Sussex Advisory Committee, and most recently, as the chair of the Kent/Sussex Membership committee.
