GGA CONSTRUCTION
An Excellence is awarded to GGA Construction in the GC/CM in the $50-60 million category for 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue. The 376,000 sq. ft., 8-story, mixed-use building in downtown Wilmington features luxury design and amenities, including a rooftop terrace. It was constructed next to an operating railroad, active businesses, and heavily trafficked Route 52.
A 197-foot luffing jib tower crane was essential to its completion.
M DAVIS & SONS
M Davis & Sons is honored with an Excellence in the mechanical $2-5 million category for the United Cocoa Processors Second Cocoa Bean Grinding Line. The mechanical project involved unique challenges revolving around heavy equipment rigging, structural steel fabrication and installation, mechanical piping, and field-modified welded duct systems in and operational food processing facility.
