Longwood fountains reopen in spring 2017
After three years of renovations, the iconic fountains of Longwood Gardens will burst back to life in the
spring of 2017, shooting water 175 feet into the air — 45 feet higher than ever before.
The five-acre Fountain Garden, installed 85 years ago when Pierre S. du Pont sought to rival the fountains he had seen in Europe and at the 1893 World Columbian Exposition in Chicago, was a technological marvel of its time. The new fountains will feature enhanced controls that will allow water choreographers to create shows with undulating, flexing and spinning effects — all to the accompaniment of music and, sometimes, fireworks — from spring through fall.

Meanwhile, the DELAWARE ART MUSEUM now has Chef Dan Butler leading its
culinary art scene inside the THRONSON CAFÉ. Butler, owner of several regional
restaurants including the ever-popular PICCOLINA TOSCANA, also crafts the men

Analog-A-Go-Go spins its way to Wilmington
DOGFISH HEAD BREWERY brings its annual festival of craft beers and vinyl tunes to Bellevue State Park in September! This day-long party features live bands; both cask beer and distillery gardens; an artisan market with arts, vintage goods and tons of new and rare vinyl records; and tasty noshes from the best local and travelin’ trucks in the Mid-Atlantic.
Every year, Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione pulls together lots of his crafty peers from around the country for the “Best Firkin Friends Beer Festival,” the festival-within- the-festival featuring samples of limited-edition beers from big names like Funky Buddah, Allagash, Iron Hill, Sierra Nevada, Stoudts, Boston Beer and, of course, Dogfish Head.
No fan of the craft can miss this one.
