WESTCHESTER SMART THE WESTCHESTER OFFICE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
FUELING GROWTH AND INNOVATION
With nearly 34,000 firms, 400,000 employees and an annual payroll of $1 bil- lion, Westchester County is the headquarters location of more than 170 businesses. Since 2010, the county has expe- rienced the growth of 44,000 private sector jobs. Helping to drive this powerful growth is the Westchester County Office of Econom- ic Development.
Along with the County’s Industrial De- velopment Agency (IDA) and Local Devel- opment Corporation (LDC), the Office of Economic Development offers business re- sources, financial assistance and a wide range of related services and incentives to help at- tract and retain business in Westchester. Learn more about the IDA and LDC on page 44.
CREATING OPPORTUNITY
To make it easier for you to do business with us, the county has established a centralized database of active contract opportunities, organized into major business categories. You can review the list at business.west- chestergov.com and forward a proposal on opportunities that interest you.
Above, Funds provided by Westchester’s Industrial Development Agency (IDA) played a pivotal role in allowing global food and bever- age giant Danone to relocate to a state-of- the-art office space in downtown White Plains.
SUPPORT FOR SMALLER BUSINESSES
To help smaller entrepreneurs to start or expand their business in the county, the Office of Economic Development offers support to small businesses in dealing with most municipal, state and county agencies and departments. Depending on the size of your small business, the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency may be able to offer tax incentives to help your company grow in Westchester.
