Why Princeton-?
A Strategic Area to Start or Relocate a Business
PRINCETON-MERCER IS A BURGEONING PLACE TO DO BUSINESS with an abundance of amenities, a highly skilled workforce and a strategic location that is within an hour of
New York City and Philadelphia. The region is home to some of the nation’s most successful firms, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Black Rock, Novo Nordisk and Educational Testing Service (ETS).
Princeton-Mercer, with its storied history, is part of the fabric of this nation. Residents Richard Stockton, a New Jersey Continental Congressman, and Presbyterian minister John
Witherspoon each signed the Declaration of Independence. Princeton University, founded in 1756, is widely regarded as one of the top institutions of higher learning in the world. That early innovative spirit is alive today
with a talented class of entrepreneurs and major research firms that call Princeton-Mercer home.
Moreover, firms flock to the region because of the opportunity to secure talented employees. The majority of Mercer County residents attain a high school degree, while 40 percent of the population, age 25 or older, earns a bachelor’s degree — much higher
than the U.S. average of 33 percent. Princeton-Mercer also boasts a high standard of living with a median household income of $72,804 — also above the national average of $51,939.
Business groups in the Princeton- Mercer region offer attractive incentives to move or start a company. There
are numerous resources available to potential employers.

   Why we chose Princeton-Mercer
We asked local companies to weigh in on what makes the region a great place to do business. Here is what they had to say.
Mary Jane Healey, Talent Acquisition Specialist, CI&T (http://us.ciandt.com)
“Earlier this year, we moved to Princeton from Somerset to establish a customized creative space for our collaborators, clients and the community with whom we’re engaged. We have approximately one dozen collaborators in New Jersey and, in the greater New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania area, we have 29 collaborators, representing our Technical, Marketing, Shared Services and People areas, as well as management and executives. Overall, the greater Princeton region is attractive for its ease of access within the Northeast corridor and the area’s tech and educational communities. Additionally, the area’s parking, shopping, dining, exercise and wellness options, cultural venues, historic walking-friendly downtown and beautiful university campus were important in our selection of this area for our new space. CI&T works with Fortune-ranked companies nationwide, including several in the Northeast corridor. As we expand that regional client footprint, our collaborator footprint will need to grow correspondingly.”
Richard Coyne, CPA, Partner, Withum (www.withum.com)
“I have been at Withum since 1984, and Withum has been in Princeton since 1979. [We have] about 110 employees in the Princeton office. The Princeton-Mercer region is full of startup, growing and mature businesses with an entrepreneurial spirit! This area has businesses in every type of industry and is a central point between New York and Philadelphia and also Boston and Washington, D.C.
The people who own/run the businesses in this area are very experienced, are focused on quality work environments and have a vision for the future. There is a tremendous amount of opportunities in the Princeton-Mercer region! We continue to grow each year and we anticipate that growth will continue in the Princeton-Mercer region.”
Peter Dawson, Owner, Leigh Visual Imaging Solutions (www.leighimaging.com)
“We have been located in the Princeton-Mercer region for 72 years. It’s a good place to do business because of its convenient location, close to the greater central New Jersey business community. As an entrepreneurial-based company, we have expanded as the area has grown, and plan to continue to do so.”
