Performance Venues
The McCarter Theatre Center
in Princeton offers hundreds of performances each year. The schedule for 2019 includes “The Pirates of Penzance,” “Swan Lake” and “The Midtown Men,” among many others.
For innovative, thought-provoking live theater, head to Passage Theatre in Trenton. The 2019 season will include “Solo Flights: To My Unborn Child: A
Love Letter From Fred Hampton, which discusses the teachings of murdered Black Panther Fred Hampton. The theater also offers educational programs for all ages, including the recently launched Theatre for Young Audiences program.
Sit back and enjoy a movie at Princeton Garden Theatre. The nonprofit, community-based cinema features a wide selection of movies, including Hollywood Summer Nights with reduced admission and free popcorn for moviegoers who dress the part.
Founded in 1980, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra has evolved into
a true artistic asset for the Princeton- Mercer region. In 2019, the PSO will offer a variety of orchestral, pops and chamber-music programming, including guest performances by Rachel Barton Pines and Chelsea Knox.
The Arts Council of Princeton’s
Paul Robeson Center for the Arts collaborates with theater troupes and community groups to stage productions that feature local actors, dancers and artists. The Arts Council also offers dance classes.
