Enjoy the Great Outdoors in Princeton-Mercer
PRINCETON-MERCER IS HOME TO VAST OPEN SPACES, PLACES TO HIKE AND QUIET SPOTS to dream or recharge,
and all of these natural wonders are within close proximity to a thriving downtown. The region offers some of the finest venues for sports and recreation at beautifully maintained parks, in addition to a variety of lush gardens and scenic trails. Princeton is the perfect destination for an all-day outing, indoor or outdoor, any season of the year.
Parks, Gardens, Trails
The Princeton-Mercer region is full of great places to host a picnic or go for a hike. There are also plenty of quiet spots to enjoy a book or a day in the sun with family and friends, and lush gardens offer a perfect place to unwind and experience a wide array of native and exotic plants.
Mercer County Park, spread over 2,500 acres in the townships of West Windsor, Hamilton and Lawrence, is a mecca for
outdoor enthusiasts, including mountain bikers and hikers. There are more than a dozen playing fields for soccer, football, lacrosse and Frisbee, some of which offer parking, playgrounds, pavilions
and restrooms. In addition, seven well- lit basketball courts are located at the southernmost part of the park. The park even offers something for our four- legged friends, who can cavort around the Bark Park with other off-leash dogs.
The beautifully renovated Boathouse
at Mercer Lake offers lakefront event space overlooking lush park greenery and a picturesque lake. The facilities include a kitchen with an exclusive caterer, making this the perfect spot
to host both intimate family events and large corporate, charity or social events.
Carnegie Lake was created in 1906
by Scottish-American steel maker Andrew Carnegie, as a gift to Princeton
