W
ith five locomotives
and 20 miles of track, the relatively small Canton
Railroad Company yields big results for its
customers.
The short-line railroad provides rail access to
the Seagirt Marine Terminal, seamlessly connecting
the Port of Baltimore with the Norfolk Southern and
CSX rail systems.
“Our No. 1 issue is to keep rail access into
the terminal,” said John C. Magness, President
and CEO of the Canton Railroad Company. “We
have a great working relationship with the Port of
Baltimore and Ports America. We’re always trying
to explore ways to take advantage of each other’s
