    COMMUNICATIONS REPORT
    NEW VIDEO SERIES
to Communicate with Both NCFA Members and Potential New Members
As part of an effort to educate the general public on forestry in North Carolina, highlight our members, and gain potential new members, the NCFA is offering two new communication series for 2021.
NCFA has created profile videos for a series called The Voice of Forestry in NC. Our goal with the video series is to spotlight members and what the NCFA means to them. Our first video was posted live in February and highlighted long-time member K.O. Summerville. You can view it on our YouTube page, as well as our second video highlighting member Lauren Killian from Enviva.
The NCFA has also created a Virtual Panel series, a way for our membership to feel connected and
gain knowledge from industry leaders. The NCFA is a thought leader in the industry, and this series will be an opportunity to highlight that fact. Panels will be held virtually through the NCFA’s Zoom account, posted to our YouTube page, and publicized on
our social media accounts. Our first virtual panel, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Forestry,” is
also posted to our YouTube page. Speakers shared their stories of working with diverse teams, advised the next generation of young professionals, and highlighted strategies businesses can adopt to build inclusivity in the workplace. Our second panel,
“Day in the Life - Forestry Careers 101” featured several member companies and had attendees from all over the U.S. for a conversation about setting yourself apart, recommendations for focus areas, and potential internships and career opportunities for those in the field of forestry and forest products.
Top of page: Sam Cook, NCSU; Amy Phillips, Weyerhaeuser; Terry Baker, SAF; and Tony Doster, Resource Management Services all participated in this lively discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion in forestry.
K.O. Summerville waits patiently for the video shooting to begin for the Voice of Forestry in NC profile series. J.P. Dame, videographer, gets the shot “just right.”
