 CASE STUDY
    INTRODUCTION
On March 11, 2020, the first case
of COVID-19 was identified in the State of Delaware by the Delaware Division of Public Health. On March 20, 2020, Beebe Healthcare admitted its first COVID-19 patient. To aid the understanding of this disease and to assist with modeling and predicting equipment needed, such as ventilators and personal protective equipment (PPE), the Population Health Team began tracking all COVID-19 patients on a “Patient Journey” spreadsheet. The data from this timeline was used to complete this report.
METHODS
Starting in March 2020, patients admitted to Beebe Healthcare underwent a screening questionnaire
to identify risk factors for COVID-19 disease. When patients had clinical symptoms and risk factors concerning for COVID-19, these patients were tested via a nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal PCR test. These tests were sent to the State of Delaware Public Health laboratory for processing. and placed into a database. This database was used to perform a admitted patients at Beebe Healthcare, after they had all been discharged.
DATA
The Patient Journey describes the level

COVID-19 patients at Beebe Healthcare and is shown in Figure 1. Each separate line represents a single patient, correlating to each day spent in the hospital. Medical/
