   New Faces Join the Ranks in Legislative Hall

The 150th General Assembly welcomes new faces in the double digits, with more member turnover than has been seen in decades. While the legislature still does not boast a physician amongst its            legislators. Allow us to introduce you to a few of them. They may    
>Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha represents District 1, out of the City of Wilmington. We welcome former councilman Chukwuocha to Dover. He replaces former Rep. Charles Potter. Rep. Chukwuocha is a social worker and the son of late William “Hicks” Anderson, the namesake for the Hicks Anderson Community Center. Interestingly, he and his twin brother, Albert Mills, together comprise the “Twin Poets” and are Delaware’s Poet Laureates.
>Rep. Kendra Johnson out of Bear represents the 5th District, stepping up after Rep. Melanie George Smith. Rep. Johnson
holds a master’s degree in human services and is Director of Employment and Adult Day Services at Elwyn. Elwyn is a regional         early intervention screenings for children in Philadelphia who
may have autism to residential offerings with day and vocational programs for adults with intellectual disabilities.”
>Rep. Raymond Siegfried is the new representative for North Wilmington’s District 7, replacing Rep. Bryon Short. Rep. Siegfried is a former Christiana Care Vice President and professor of health care policy at Arcadia University.
>Rep. Krista Griffith succeeds Rep. Debbie Hudson in the 12th District, greater Greenville. A licensed attorney and parent of a child            
advocacy community, serving with the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, the Family Advisory Council for Nemours Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, and the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children. As an attorney under Attorneys General Biden                  
>Rep. Melissa Minor-Brown now represents the New Castle area, succeeding Rep. Michael Mulrooney. Rep. Minor-Brown is a licensed and practicing nurse. She started her career as a nurse in the VA Hospital in Elsmere. She has worked in the long-term care setting and as a state-wide nursing educator.
>Rep. Michael Smith succeeds Rep. Joe Miro in greater Hockessin, the 22nd District. Rep. Smith is the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships for UD’s College of Health Sciences. The college is housed at UD’s STAR Campus, which is an epicenter of health care infrastructure and health care education for the University.
>Sen. Darius Brown succeeds Sen. Margaret Rose Henry, out of the City of Wilmington. As councilman, Senator Brown established paid parental leave for the city and created and ran Wilmington’s health care task force, designed to address the rising costs of employee health care.
