   described the utilization of Blockchain technology, explained the community- wide collaborative approach to solving
the prior authorization hassles that plague physicians and patients, and shared how to connect people, processes, and technology in an innovative way to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
Awards presented included those to our physician members who were recognized for their 50 years as a member of the medical profession and in appreciation
of their dedicated service to the citizens of Delaware. Those present to receive their 50-Year Medical Graduate Award were: Mark J. Granada, MD; Stephen L. Hershey, MD; Joseph F. Kestner, Jr., MD; Garth A. Koniver, MD; Janet P. Kramer, MD; William L. Medford, Jr., MD; Narinder Singh, MD; and John Smoluk, MD. Special recognition awards were given to Sen. Bryan Townsend and Rep. David Bentz for their service in the state legislature and in bettering health care policy for Delaware.
Additional awards were presented at
the Inaugural Gala held on Saturday evening, November 17, 2018 at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington. The 2018 Daniel A. Alvarez, MD Distinguished Service Award was presented to Kelly
S. Eschbach, MD and the President’s Award recognized Prayus T. Tailor,
MD. Two additional special recognition awards were handed out in the evening. Karyl T. Rattay, MD was recognized for her leadership on the prescription drug abuse and addiction issue, as well as for her expert guidance as the Director of
the Division of Public Health. Victor F. Battaglia, Sr., Esq. was recognized for his expert counsel and guidance to MSD and the medical profession in our state.
As a memorial to the members of MSD who were lost through death during the past year, those in attendance
