innovating flexible containment solu- tions for decades. The company con- tinued to add to that legacy during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, provid- ing protective gear for the public health workers who were fighting the disease.
ILC Dover’s Sentinel XL HP, a high-performance powered air-purify- ing respirator (PAPR) system, filters out contaminants in the air using a battery-operated blower to provide clean air through a loose-fitting hood. Because it pulls air through the filter, the blower nearly eliminates breathing difficulty associated with earlier suits.
The Sentinel XL HP was designed in collaboration with leading health- care organizations to determine their specific needs as related to Ebola protection. In fact, it provides about 1,000 times more protection
than the basic white masks hospital workers typically wear.

are finishing college now, and they are already making waves as entrepreneurs. “We knew that we wanted to start a business,” Fender says. After going through the Summer Founders program at the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship initiative, the friends settled on real estate. Specifically, they founded Wilminvest, a firm that aims to turn distressed urban real estate into a profitable investment while also helping the community.
There are about 1,700 vacant and/or abandoned properties in Wilmington, Fender notes, adding that the city also has upwards of 7,500 residents who have
