Shelter From the Storms
Ministry of Caring offers 13 facilities for emergency, transitional and permanent housing.
Housing—and the sense of security it provides—is a basic need for every human being. In 1977, the Ministry of Caring started with the opening of the eight-bed Mary Mother of Hope House I, the first emergency shelter for single women on the Delmarva Peninsula. Since then, the emergency shelter has served more than 6,000 women.
Today, the Ministry of Caring offers 13 facilities for
emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Case managers provide the critical guidance necessary to help clients turn
their lives around.
Rob Bair, an Air Force veteran, felt his world fall apart in 2011. He was working full time at a paint store and part time
at a liquor store when his addiction to alcohol affected his job performance and his life. He was fired from the paint store and
